OZK Customs + OZK Customs Floors

Planning the interior layout of your conversion van means considering bed systems, storage solutions, seating arrangements and more. And the thing many of those components have in common is they require a floor to mount to. While there are some popular options in the adventure van industry for flooring, here at OZK Customs we also offer custom flooring that is the perfect blank slate for your van interior design.

If you’ve looked at modular options like the SmartFloor, but aren’t quite ready for the investment that would require, our marine-grade plywood sub floor can me a much more affordable, while still high quality option. We use marine-grade 3/4” plywood to form the base of our floor. A more hard-wearing option than standard plywood, the marine grade variety is pressure-treated and ensures no voids between the layers of hardwood for structural integrity and strength. It is finished with an exterior resin that offers high water resistance, making it ideal for applications like the marine industry, and of course adventure van floors.

Our process also sets this floor apart. Every piece is custom cut to your van – no mass production of sections that may or may not fit your camper van perfectly. Our CNC router allows us to create precision cuts and dog-bone connectors, creating stable, flat seams that will never pull apart or warp under heavy use. We glue and screw down each marine grade plywood panel so that your floor will never shift.

If you still aren’t sure about the SmartFloor vs. OZK Customs floor, another thing to consider is the modularity. With the SmartFloor, the rails offer incredible versatility if you are often changing out seating arrangements or frequently mount equipment to it. If you know the interior set-up you want in your conversion van, and you don’t feel that it will be changing for most of your trips, then the SmartFloor does not add as much benefit. If the rails are not being used frequently, or aren’t covered correctly, then to an extent they are one more place for dirt and other natural debris from your van trips to get trapped.

The OZK Customs’ floor offers a rugged and durable surface. We offer two primary floor toppers – the 2Tec2 vinyl woven flooring, and a standard rubber lawn coin top. The Rubber lawn coin top is completely waterproof, resilient to wear, easy to clean, provides good grip for wet shoes or bare feet, and offers a smooth and comfortable surface clear up to our OZK Customs threshold package that we install on every floor edge.

Our marine grade floor allows us complete flexibility to mount literally anything to it, including cabinets and after-market seating. If you need us to put in a bench seat, sleeper sofa, or any other seating solutions we ensure those seats are securely attached – either with the applicable brackets, or custom brackets we create that attach literally to the frame rails of the van itself. We can create whatever custom set-up you desire on this practical and long-lasting floor.
