There are many potential sleeping solutions for your conversion van, depending on your goals and desired interior configuration, but one of the closest-to-home options for giving you the most bed space is the panel bed kit. We offer several panel bed kits that we have chosen to be the highest quality and most functional on the market, such as the adjustable 6ft model from RB Components.

This universal kit can be mounted in Sprinter, Transit, or Promaster vans, and includes three 24” wide panels that securely lock into the mounting rails with two spring-loaded mounting pins and create a sleeping surface 72” long. It can also be ordered in a 4 ft. universal kit that comes with two panels – which would be primarily useful if you intend to sleep side-to-side in your camper van using flares. Each panel is fully adjustable on EZ glide slider tubes, with the ability to extend outward to a maximum of 72” to fit into a wider set-up, such as inside flares. The panels also press together down to 60” in length, so the bed can be easily installed closer to the floor or ceiling of your van, depending on your interior configuration and storage needs.

Each panel is framed in black powder-coated aluminum for durability, and can be ordered in 3/8” laminated hex board, or ¼” bamboo top panels. The holes in the top panel are designed to allow your mattress to sink in a little, increasing its give and comfort overnight. And if you are an extra-tall adventurer, RB Components has your back – the panel bed kit can be ordered with an extended rear panel, creating an overall sleeping length of 77.75 for the comfort of any occupant.
