If you’ve considered having an enclosed shower installed as part of your conversion van upfit, you are probably aware of a few key points. First, we all love a good shower. It’s one of the true luxuries of modern life and little feels as good as stepping into a hot shower – or a cool one! – after a long day having fun and working hard outdoors. Second – traditional enclosed showers take up space. Even the most compact showers, the ones that give you just enough space to turn around and bang your elbows on, still encroach on about four square feet of living space – which is an amount you have to think about in even the most spacious Sprinter 170 EXT camper van interiors. And your other option is an outdoor shower curtain and hose attachment, which especially if the weather is less than ideal, provides a less than ideal experience. The Tetravan Folding Shower 2.1 with Magnetic Shower curtain has been meticulously designed to solve the ‘space’ issue often associated with enclosed showers. Rather than taken up several square feet of the entire space of your living area, this shower literally folds up against the wall when you are done using it, with virtually no intrusion into your living space!

When you want to shower, you simply fold down the shower pan, which has a 2” rigid edge to keep water from spilling out, even if your van is parked at an angle. A large, built-in drain ensures quick water drainage into an angled gutter and out through a conventional marine shower drain, and a special drip edge catches any remaining water in the pan when you fold it back against the wall.

The Tetravan Folding camper van shower is built to last. The shower pan is constructed from laser-cut, galvanized steel with a mini-texture black powder coat, ensuring easy cleaning, grip, and sturdiness. And the sturdy magnetic shower curtain is made from waterproof ripstop nylon, with powerful magnets sewn into the lining. When the shower is closed, a marine-grade compression clasp proven to resist vibration, keeps the shower pan securely fastened.

The components of this shower are made from corrosion proof stainless steel, with high quality German plumbing, adjustable sprayer, and quick connect shower hose. For showering, the shower head clips into a wall-mounted holder to provide water flow at a convenient height, and when you finish with your shower, simply stow the shower head and hose in the magnetic, zippered bag.

The showerhead supports a “quick rinse” mode – where water comes out as you press a button to truly conserve your hot water supply – and in a continuous flow mode, which is designed to provide you some water pressure while utilizing as little water a possible – requiring 1.75 gallons per minute. (Quick showers are the name of the game in the camper van world!)

The magnetic shower curtain can be put up in seconds, hanging from simple clips installed in your van’s ceiling, while the magnetic fasteners keep it securely closed and inside the shower pan to prevent any water leakage. Loops and grommets sewn into the top allow you to adjust the height of the curtain, and it widens to 30” at the top, providing a little more elbow room for comfortable showering. The quick-drying waterproof nylon curtain material dries quickly if left to hang for a bit – inside or outside – and can be folded up and stored in a magnetic zip bag inside the shower.

This folding shower can be installed almost anywhere! This includes cabinet mounted – on the side of a sink galley, for instance, the shower can share your sink’s plumbing and water source. It can be installed on an under-bed bulkhead and plumbed into the hot water storage system. And it can be installed on the van wall, under the front panel of a panel bed system, keeping it truly out of sight when the bed panel is replaced. Folded, the shower is 32.5” tall, and 21.75” wide, requiring 7” of depth behind the installation surface for the pan and plumbing. It can be ordered in black or stainless steel finishes, to better match your interior van aesthetic. The shower can be flush-mounted, and the handle extends only 2.6” away from the wall or cabinet.
