The Overlander Challenge

Stock Vans Can't Go There

Low ground clearance stops you at the first forest road. You watch Tacomas and 4Runners pass while you turn around. The best campsites are always past where your van can go.

Aftermarket Lifts Void Warranties

Cheap lift kits cause alignment problems. Insurance may not cover accidents. Your warranty is gone the moment you install an unapproved suspension. One breakdown and you're stranded.

No Off-Grid Capability

Campgrounds are crowded and expensive. BLM land has no hookups. Your weekend builds can't handle a week off-grid. You're hunting for power instead of enjoying the wilderness.

Complete Expedition Build

Everything you need for extended off-grid adventure — lifted, powered, and built for the long haul.

Quigley Q-Lift

Off-Grid Electrical

Large lithium battery banks, high-wattage solar, alternator charging. Sized for weeks off-grid. Power everything without hookups.

Rugged Interior

Durable materials that handle dirt, mud, and hard use. Easy-clean surfaces. Storage designed for gear, not just living.

All-Terrain Tires

Proper rubber for the trails you want to run. Tire size coordinated with Q-Lift geometry. No rubbing, no clearance issues.

Water Systems

Large freshwater capacity for extended trips. Filtration systems for filling from natural sources. Hot water for camp showers.

Exterior Storage

The Overlander Platform

Quigley Q-Lift is only available for Ford Transit. Other platforms work for off-pavement travel but can't match Q-Lift capability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Quigley Q-Lift and why does it matter?

The Quigley Q-Lift is a factory-backed lift kit for Ford Transits that adds 4-6 inches of ground clearance. Unlike aftermarket lifts, it's engineered by Quigley Motor Company with Ford's approval, maintains warranty coverage, and provides real off-road capability. OZK Customs is one of only 7 authorized Q-Lift installers in the United States.

How much does an overlander expedition van cost?

Overlander expedition van builds are available through our fixed pricing system+ depending on Q-Lift installation, off-grid systems, and interior build-out. Q-Lift installation alone requires consultation. OZK Customs uses fixed pricing with no hidden costs — every product and install has a set price.

What van is best for overlanding?

The Ford Transit with Quigley Q-Lift is the best overlanding platform because it's the only cargo van with a factory-backed lift system. The Transit 148 Extended High Roof with AWD provides the ideal starting point — tall enough for living space, long enough for full builds, and compatible with Q-Lift for off-road capability.

Can I go off-road in a cargo van?

Yes, with the right modifications. A stock cargo van has limited ground clearance and approach angles. The Quigley Q-Lift transforms a Ford Transit into a capable off-road vehicle with 4-6 inches additional clearance, improved approach/departure angles, and all-terrain tires. It won't replace a dedicated rock crawler, but it handles forest roads, BLM land, and moderate trails.
