The Living Space

What Makes a Van Livable?

A van becomes a home when you can sleep well, cook a real meal, stay clean, and sit down comfortably — all inside a space smaller than most walk-in closets. That's the engineering challenge behind every living system OZK installs. The bed has to be comfortable for eight hours and then get out of the way during the day. The galley has to give you a functional kitchen without eating half the floorplan. The water system has to supply a sink and a shower without turning the van into a plumbing nightmare. And every one of these systems has to work together — sharing the same space, drawing from the same power, and fitting into the same overall layout.

This is where professional installation separates itself from DIY. Bolting a bed frame to the floor is easy. Designing a bed system that integrates with your cabinetry height, accounts for your heater duct routing, leaves room for under-bed storage, and still converts to a comfortable seating position during the day — that takes experience. We've installed hundreds of these systems across Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, and Ram ProMaster platforms. We know which products perform, which combinations work together, and which layouts maximize livable space without compromising access or safety.

Every product on this page has been selected through real-world installation experience — tested in builds, proven over miles, and chosen because it solves the actual problem it's designed for. We don't carry products that look good on paper but fail in practice, and we don't install systems we haven't verified ourselves. What you see here is the OZK living systems menu — the components we stand behind.

Sleep Systems

Bed Systems

The bed is the most-used and most-compromised component in most van builds. Get it wrong and you're sleeping poorly every night on a platform that wastes half your living space during the day. Get it right and the bed becomes the foundation that every other system in the van is built around — literally. The bed height determines your under-bed storage volume. The bed footprint determines your galley layout. The bed conversion mechanism determines whether you have a functional living room or just a mattress you climb over.

OZK installs bed systems that solve the actual engineering problem — multi-function platforms that provide genuine sleeping comfort without sacrificing daytime livability. Every bed system we offer is designed for van-specific dimensions, built from materials that handle vibration and off-road stress, and engineered to integrate with the cabinetry, electrical, and climate systems around it. Whether you need a modular platform that folds into a couch, a fixed bed with maximum under-bed garage space, or a convertible dinette that serves double duty, we have a proven solution.

Plumbing & Water

Water Systems

Water is the dividing line between camping and living. A van without water is a tent on wheels — you're dependent on external facilities for every drink, every dish, every hand wash. A properly plumbed water system gives you autonomy. Fresh water on demand from a pressurized tank and pump. A sink with real water flow for cooking and cleaning. Grey water collection that keeps waste contained and easy to dump. The difference in daily livability is enormous.

OZK installs water systems ranging from simple portable setups to full pressurized plumbing. The right system depends on how you use your van — weekend warriors may need nothing more than a jerry can and a hand pump, while full-time travelers need a built-in fresh water tank, 12V pump, proper drainage, and a grey water tank sized for their usage. We route every line, mount every tank, and test every connection to ensure zero leaks. Water damage inside a van is catastrophic — there's no room for sloppy plumbing.

5×5 Jerry Can

Portable water solution for minimal builds. Easy to fill, easy to remove, zero permanent plumbing required. Ideal for weekend use or as a backup supply.

Fresh Water Tank

Built-in pressurized water tank with 12V pump. Real water pressure at your sink and shower. Sized to your usage pattern and mounted to structural points.

Grey Water Tank

Dedicated waste water collection with proper drainage routing. Easy dump valve access. Keeps grey water contained and your van's underside clean.

Sink & Water System

Complete kitchen water setup — sink basin, faucet, pressurized supply, and drain. Everything you need for cooking, cleaning, and daily use in one integrated package.

Hygiene & Comfort

Shower Systems

The shower is where most van builds either get creative or give up. Interior showers require waterproofing, drainage, ventilation, and enough space to actually stand in — all inside a vehicle where every square inch is contested real estate. Exterior showers are simpler but limit you to warm weather and private campsites. OZK installs both, and the right choice depends on how and where you travel.

Our shower installations are fully integrated with the van's water system, drainage, and ventilation. Interior showers get proper waterproofing — shower pans, sealed walls, and drainage routed to the grey water tank. We don't just hang a shower head and call it done. Every shower we install accounts for water flow, drainage slope, ventilation to prevent mold, and the practical reality of showering in a space measured in inches, not feet.

Tetravan Shower Port

Exterior quick-connect shower system. Hot and cold water at the push of a button. Perfect for post-surf, post-hike, or warm-climate rinse-offs without using interior space.

Tetravan In-Floor Shower Pan

Interior wet bath solution with a flush-mount floor pan. Waterproof, properly drained, and designed to integrate with the van's existing water and grey water systems.

Van Wife Enclosed Shower 33″ / 36″

Full enclosed shower stall in 33-inch or 36-inch widths. Real walls, real door, real privacy. The closest thing to a home shower you can fit in a van.

OZK Shower Package

Complete shower solution — plumbing, waterproofing, drainage, and ventilation designed as one system. Everything integrated, nothing improvised.

Toilet Systems

Nobody wants to talk about the toilet, but everyone wants one at 2 AM in a campground with no facilities. Van toilets have come a long way from the bucket-and-bag era. Modern dry flush and composting systems are odor-free, compact, and require zero water — critical in a vehicle where every gallon of fresh water is precious. The right toilet makes the difference between a van you can live in full-time and one that sends you running for a gas station every morning.

OZK installs three proven toilet systems, each with a different approach to waste management. Dry flush toilets seal waste in individual bags — zero water, zero odor, zero maintenance between cartridge changes. Composting toilets separate liquid and solid waste, allowing natural decomposition with minimal emptying. We'll help you choose the right system based on your travel style, passenger count, and how long you typically stay off-grid between dump opportunities.

Modiwell Dry Flush

Zero-water bag system. Each use seals waste in an airtight bag — no odor, no mess, no plumbing required. Compact enough to tuck into a cabinet or closet space.

Laveo Dry Flush

Electric bag-seal system with a home-toilet form factor. Mylar bag technology creates an airtight seal after every use. Battery or 12V powered.

Trelino Evo S Composting

Separating composting toilet that diverts liquid from solid waste. Odor-free operation, compact footprint, and longer intervals between emptying than dry flush systems.

Kitchen & Storage

Galley Cabinets & Countertops

The galley is the kitchen, the prep station, the storage hub, and often the primary work surface in a van. It has to hold a stove, a sink, food storage, cooking gear, and sometimes a refrigerator — all in a cabinet run that's typically between two and five feet long. Every inch matters, and the difference between a galley that works and one that frustrates you daily comes down to drawer layout, countertop depth, and how well the cabinet dimensions match your van's interior geometry.

OZK installs galley systems from manufacturers who build specifically for vans — not residential cabinet makers who scaled down their product line. RB Components and Flatline Van Co galleys are engineered for the exact interior dimensions of Transit, Sprinter, and ProMaster vans. Full-extension drawer slides rated for off-road vibration. Countertops that handle hot pans and wet dishes. Structural mounting that keeps everything solid over thousands of miles of road. These are working kitchens built for a moving vehicle.

RB Components Galley 24″ / 42″ / 48″ / 56″

Purpose-built van galleys in four widths. Full-extension slides, structural mounting, and precision fit for Transit, Sprinter, and ProMaster interiors.

RB Bamboo Countertop

Sustainable bamboo surface that handles heat, moisture, and daily kitchen abuse. Matched to RB galley widths for a seamless, integrated installation.

FVC Galley 24″ / 41″

Flatline Van Co galley cabinets in two sizes. Lightweight aluminum and composite construction with van-specific mounting and hardware.

SERG Flip Down Van Kitchen

Fold-out kitchen system that deploys from the van's rear. Full cooking surface and storage that stows completely flat when not in use.

Lost HiWay Fender Boxes

Wheel-well storage cabinets that convert dead space over the fender wells into organized, accessible storage. Custom-fit to each van platform.

Overhead Storage

Upper Cabinets

Upper cabinets turn wasted overhead space into the storage that makes van life practical. Clothes, toiletries, electronics, first aid, cooking supplies — all the daily essentials need a home that's accessible but out of the way. The challenge is mounting overhead storage in a curved metal shell that vibrates, flexes, and occasionally gets hit from below by someone standing up too fast. Every upper cabinet OZK installs is secured to structural ribs and mounting points — not screwed into sheet metal that will eventually tear out.

We carry upper cabinet systems from RB Components, Flatline Van Co, Van Wife, and VanEssential — each designed for specific van platforms with the correct mounting geometry, depth profiles, and door mechanisms for overhead use. Push-to-open latches that stay closed on rough roads. Angled profiles that follow the van's roof curve instead of wasting space with flat-back boxes. Lightweight materials that add storage without adding unnecessary weight to the vehicle.

RB Components Overhead / Wall Cabinets

Sprinter and Transit-specific overhead and wall-mount cabinets. Structural mounting, push-to-open latches, and van-matched depth profiles.

FVC Upper Cabinets

Flatline Van Co overhead cabinets for Sprinter and Transit. Lightweight aluminum construction with integrated mounting hardware and clean sight lines.

Van Wife Angled / Ekko Cabinets

Roof-contour-following cabinet design that maximizes storage volume. Angled profiles and the Ekko series offer multiple configuration options.

VanEssential Upper Storage Cabinets

Clean, functional overhead storage with secure latching and van-specific mounting. Designed to integrate with VanEssential's broader interior system.

Seating & Swivels

Seating Systems

Swivel seats transform your cab into part of the living space. When the driver and passenger seats rotate to face the interior, your van gains a living room that doesn't exist when the seats face forward. Paired with a table, swiveled cab seats create a dining area, a workspace, or just a comfortable place to sit that isn't the bed. It's one of the highest impact-per-dollar upgrades in a van build.

OZK installs swivel bases and upgraded seats from manufacturers who specialize in van applications. Every swivel base is crash-tested and rated for the loads involved in rotating a vehicle seat on its pedestal. Upgraded seat options from Smartseat, Pareto, and MobiFrame replace or enhance the factory seats with better ergonomics, more adjustability, and materials designed for people who spend serious hours in the driver's seat.

Driver / Passenger Swivels

Rotate cab seats 180° to face the living space. Crash-tested bases with smooth rotation and secure locking in both forward and rear-facing positions.

Smartseat EZ XL / Comfort

Ergonomic seat upgrades in two comfort tiers. Better lumbar support, more adjustability, and materials that hold up to daily use in a mobile environment.

Pareto ALFO SEGE

Premium European seat system with advanced ergonomic design. Full adjustability and support for long-distance driving and extended stationary use.

MobiFrame Taxi / Comfort

Versatile seat frames in Taxi and Comfort configurations. Designed for van-specific mounting with multiple upholstery and adjustment options.

Workspace & Dining

Table Systems

A table turns your van from a sleeping pod into a place where you can work, eat, play cards, or spread out a map. The challenge in a van is that the table needs to appear when you want it, disappear when you don't, and stay rock-solid in between. Wobbly tables that rattle while you drive or collapse while you're eating are worse than no table at all.

The Lagun table leg is the industry standard for a reason — its articulating arm lets you position the table exactly where you need it and stow it completely flat against the wall. Canyon and Far Out Ride table tops pair with the Lagun or their own mounting systems to provide surfaces in the right size for your layout. From a compact laptop surface to a full dining table, we'll configure the right combination for how you actually use the space.

Lagun Leg + Bracket

Articulating table mount that positions your table surface anywhere in its range and stows completely flat. The gold standard in van table mounting systems.

Canyon Mini Skinny / Large Universal / Console

Table tops in three sizes — from compact console to full dining surface. Designed for van dimensions with mounting hardware for Lagun and direct-mount configurations.

Far Out Ride Bamboo / Mount

Sustainable bamboo table surface with Far Out Ride's proprietary mounting system. Clean aesthetics, durable construction, and easy deployment.

Built Right, The First Time

Why Professional Installation Matters

Integrated Layout Design

Every living system affects every other living system. Your bed height determines your galley countertop height. Your water tank placement affects your cabinet depth. Your shower drainage needs to account for your grey water tank location. OZK designs the complete layout before any component is installed — one plan, zero conflicts.

Structural Mounting

Cabinets screwed into sheet metal tear out. Bed platforms bolted to the floor without reinforcement crack. Every component OZK installs is secured to structural ribs, factory mounting points, or reinforced attachment systems. Your living space stays solid at mile 100,000 the same way it was at mile one.

Warranty-Valid Installation

Every product we install carries its manufacturer warranty — and professional installation ensures those warranties stay valid. We document every installation with photos and specs, so if a warranty issue ever comes up, you have proof that the product was installed correctly.

Multi-Platform Experience

Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Ram ProMaster — each platform has different interior dimensions, mounting points, and structural characteristics. OZK has installed living systems across all three platforms and knows which products fit which vans, which combinations work, and which compromises to avoid.

From Consultation to Keys

The Build Process

01

Layout Consultation

We start with how you use your van — solo or with a partner, weekends or full-time, cooking meals or eating out, working remotely or disconnecting. Your answers shape the entire living system layout.

02

System Selection

Based on your layout, we select the right bed, galley, water, and storage systems from our menu. Every component is matched to your van platform and verified for compatibility with the rest of the build.

03

Professional Install

Our team installs every living system as part of your complete build. Plumbing is pressure-tested. Cabinets are torqued to spec. Bed mechanisms are cycled and verified. Nothing ships without being proven.

04

Walkthrough & Delivery

You get a complete walkthrough of every system — how the bed converts, how the water pump works, where the grey tank dumps, how the cabinets latch. You leave knowing your van, not just owning it.

Living system installations are available as part of a complete build or as standalone upgrades to your existing van.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

OZK installs beds, galleys, water systems, showers, toilets, cabinetry, seating, and tables on Ford Transit (2015+), Mercedes Sprinter (2019+), and Ram ProMaster (2022+). Product availability varies by platform — not every component fits every van. During your consultation, we'll confirm which products are compatible with your specific van and recommend the best options for your layout.

Yes — and we do it all the time. An RB Components galley with Van Wife upper cabinets, a Flatline bed platform, and a Lagun table is a perfectly valid build. The key is making sure every component works together dimensionally and functionally, which is exactly what our layout consultation process handles. We'll tell you what fits, what conflicts, and what combinations we've proven in previous builds.

Both. Many customers start with a bed and galley and add water, shower, and storage systems over time. We design every installation with future expansion in mind — running wiring for systems you haven't installed yet, leaving mounting points accessible, and documenting the build so the next phase connects seamlessly. That said, a complete build is always more efficient and cost-effective than multiple shop visits.

For full-time use, we typically recommend the Trelino Evo S composting toilet — the separating design means longer intervals between emptying, lower ongoing cost per use compared to dry flush cartridges, and a more sustainable approach for daily use. For weekend and occasional use, the Laveo or Modiwell dry flush systems are simpler and require less ongoing maintenance. We'll walk you through the tradeoffs during your consultation.

Van showers connect to your fresh water tank through a 12V pump, with hot water provided by an on-demand water heater or the vehicle's engine coolant loop. Drain water routes to a dedicated grey water tank. The entire system — supply, heating, drainage, and ventilation — is designed and installed as one integrated circuit. We size the fresh and grey water tanks to match your shower usage pattern so you're not running dry or overflowing.

Timelines depend on the scope. A bed and galley installation in an otherwise empty van might take a few days. A complete living system buildout — bed, water, shower, toilet, cabinetry, seating, and table — is a multi-week project because every system has to be routed, mounted, tested, and verified against everything else. We'll give you a realistic timeline during consultation based on your specific configuration.
