Interior Packages
From bare metal to finished living space — insulation, sound deadening, walls, ceilings, flooring, and everything in between. Every layer professionally installed as an integrated system, not a collection of parts.
What Goes Into a Professional Van Interior?
A cargo van is a steel shell. Turning that shell into a living space that performs in every season, every climate, and every driving condition requires a layered approach where every material and every installation decision affects everything above it. The insulation determines your thermal envelope. The sound deadening determines your noise floor. The wall system determines what you can mount, where you can route wiring, and how you access the structure underneath. The flooring determines your weight, your moisture management, and whether your interior survives years of boots, gear, and weather. None of these decisions exist in isolation — they're an integrated stack, and getting the order wrong or the materials wrong creates problems that compound through the entire build.
OZK Customs installs interior packages on the Ford Transit (2015+), Mercedes Sprinter (2019+), and Ram ProMaster (2022+). Every product on our menu has been tested across dozens of completed builds — selected not because it's the cheapest option, but because it performs. We carry multiple products in each category because different builds have different requirements. A weekend adventure van has different insulation needs than a full-time liveaboard. A contractor fleet vehicle has different flooring demands than a camper conversion. The right interior starts with understanding how you'll actually use the vehicle.
Below is every interior product we install — from the first layer against bare metal to the finished living surface you see and touch every day. Each section links to detailed product pages where you can explore individual options. During your consultation, we'll help you select the right combination for your platform, your use case, and your build goals.
Insulation
Insulation is the first and most critical layer in any van interior build. It determines your thermal performance in every season, controls condensation that destroys van interiors from the inside out, and establishes the acoustic baseline for everything installed above it. Get insulation wrong — or skip it — and no amount of beautiful paneling or premium flooring will save the build. Moisture will find its way between the metal shell and the interior surface, and over months of temperature cycling, it will corrode panels, grow mold, and degrade every material it touches.
OZK carries three insulation systems, each engineered for different performance requirements and installation contexts. Havelock Wool is our most recommended option for full conversions — a natural fiber that actively manages moisture rather than trapping it. Lizard Skin Ceramic Insulation is a spray-applied coating that delivers thermal and acoustic performance in a single application, ideal for complex cavities and areas where batt insulation can't reach. 3M Thinsulate provides proven, lightweight thermal performance in a flexible format that's been the industry standard for years. The right choice depends on your platform, your climate exposure, and how your build layers interact.
Sound Deadening
A cargo van is, by design, a large resonant metal box. Every road vibration, every rain drop, every passing truck sends noise reverberating through the entire shell. Sound deadening transforms the acoustic character of the vehicle from industrial cargo hauler to finished living space. It's not just about comfort — excessive road noise contributes to driver fatigue on long hauls, and an interior that echoes and rings makes conversation, phone calls, and sleep measurably worse.
We install two sound deadening systems. Vibration Damping Sheets are butyl rubber mass-loaded panels applied directly to the metal skin — they convert vibration energy into heat, eliminating the resonance that makes cargo vans loud. Lizard Skin Sound Control is a spray-applied acoustic barrier that reaches every surface, every rib, and every cavity where sheet products can't go. Many builds benefit from both — sheets on large flat panels for maximum damping, spray coating on complex structural areas for complete coverage.
Walls & Ceilings
Wall and ceiling panels are the most visible layer of your van interior — but they're far more than cosmetic. A properly engineered panel system provides structural mounting for accessories, integrated channels for wiring and lighting, L-track for reconfigurable cargo management, and clean access to the insulation and electrical systems underneath. The difference between a van-specific panel system and generic plywood screwed to the walls is the difference between a finished vehicle and a construction project that never quite ends.
OZK installs five wall and ceiling systems, each designed for different priorities. From custom CNC-cut birch panels built in our own shop to modular systems with integrated L-track to premium commercial-grade liners built for fleet durability — every option is platform-specific, tested in real builds, and installed by our team to manufacturer specifications. During your consultation, we'll match you with the system that fits your platform, your use case, and your aesthetic preferences.
Flooring
Van floors take more abuse than any other interior surface. Wet boots, heavy gear, mud, sand, temperature swings, and the constant vibration of a moving vehicle — it all hits the floor first. The right flooring system handles all of this without delaminating, warping, or trapping moisture underneath where it can corrode the van's metal floor pan. Every flooring product we install starts with a proper subfloor layer that creates a waterproof barrier between the finished surface and the bare metal, managing moisture and providing a stable, level base for whatever goes on top.
We carry seven flooring products — from commercial marine-grade vinyl proven in boat and hospitality applications to modular click-lock systems designed for fast reconfiguration, to rail-based platforms that integrate with cargo management systems. The range reflects the reality that a weekend camper, a mobile office, a contractor work van, and a full-time liveaboard all have completely different demands on their floors. Your consultation will match you with the flooring system that handles your specific use case — and we install it over a proper subfloor every time.
Build Your Interior the Right Way
Every interior build starts with a consultation. Tell us your platform, your use case, and your priorities — and we'll configure an interior package that performs as a system, not a collection of parts.
Why Professional Installation Matters
Moisture Management
The number one killer of van interiors is moisture trapped between layers. Professional installation means vapor barriers placed correctly, insulation that breathes where it needs to, and drainage paths that prevent water from pooling in cavities you can't see. Every layer is installed with the layers above and below it in mind.
Integrated Systems
Your walls need to accommodate electrical runs. Your floor needs to support cabinetry mounting points. Your ceiling needs clearance for ventilation fans and lighting. Professional installation plans all of these interactions before the first panel goes up — not after you discover the wiring has nowhere to go.
Warranty Protection
Every product we install carries its manufacturer warranty — and professional installation ensures those warranties remain valid. Havelock Wool, Adventure Wagon, SmartFloor, and every other product on our menu require proper installation to maintain warranty coverage. Our documentation protects your investment.
Single-Point Accountability
When insulation, sound deadening, walls, and flooring are installed by different people at different times, nobody owns the result. At OZK, one team installs every layer of your interior as one project. One team stands behind it. One phone call gets you support for anything — from a panel question to a flooring concern.
The Build Process
Consultation & Selection
We start with your platform, your use case, and your goals. Weekend adventurer or full-time liveaboard? Camper conversion or work van? We'll recommend the right products for each layer based on how you actually use the vehicle.
Material Coordination
We source and stage every product for your build — insulation, sound deadening, panels, flooring, hardware, and fasteners. Everything arrives before your van enters the shop. No waiting on parts mid-build.
Layered Installation
Your interior is built from the metal out — sound deadening first, then insulation, then panels, then flooring. Each layer is installed with the next layer's requirements already planned. No rework, no compromises.
Inspection & Walkthrough
Every panel is checked for fit and finish. Every floor section is verified for level and security. Mounting points are tested under load. You get a complete walkthrough of your interior before you take the keys.
